Roof decoration has an age-old tradition. While it served more as a good luck charm for Romans as well as the Germanic peoples, providing protection from evil spirits, today it is a prominently visible symbol of the house owner's artistry.

A timelessly elegant design is also important at ridge height. That is why Erlus commissioned the internationally renowned designer Hans-Wilhelm Seitz with the design of a ridge cock and pinecone – two classic roof decoration elements.
